From Snowfall to Sunshine

Jake had the opportunity to see snow once again on Tuesday. Kevin got to come home early, plus my parents were here, so we had a fun snow day; except for the fact that Jake didn't really like the snow too much. He walked around a little bit, but as soon as his hand touched the snow, he was in tears. We'll take warm weather over cold any day.Once again, I just can't seem to get this picture to straighten out in Blogger, but I just had to include it. Jake got these adorable rainboots from Chad and Cassy for his birthday. I loved them, and immediately put them on him. Well, being a little unstable on his feet, he couldn't get his balance and fell right down. This snowfall was the perfect chance to try again, and I'm proud to say Jake has mastered walking well enough to officially wear his boots!
Jake is always spoiled by his grandparents, and this visit was no different. Being an avid golfer, Papa couldn't pass up the opportunity to get Jake his first golf set. Here's his first lesson. Be sure to keep your eye on the ball...
...and swing! Look at the big smile on Jake's face...
Jake also got his own push lawnmower. He LOVES pushing it around. He even knows how to pull the pull start to turn the engine "on."
Kevin took Friday off and we headed to Allen to visit Chad, Cassy, Cohen and Channing. Saturday was a beautiful sunshiney day, so we started off the day with a visit to the park. Here are the boys...
Channing has grown so much since Christmas. Look at this adorable smile...
She sported her UT gear in our honor. Go Horns!!!
We went to a pizza place for lunch on Saturday. Jake and Cohen LOVE pizza. Cohen ate over two pieces, and Jake at over one, and the pieces were big. It was crazy watching them chow down. There was a TV mounted above us, and the boys got sucked into a basketball game. Think this might be glimpse into the future?.?...
We then headed to Gainesville to make our family rounds complete. A visit to Nana and Big T's wouldn't be complete without bubble time in the "Emerald City"...
Big T pulled out some Hot Wheels and racing track. I'm not sure who had more fun with it, Kevin and Big T or Jake?
I think dinner on Saturday night might have been the pinnacle of my trip because we ate at Babe's Chicken. I love home cooking, and I love Babe's. If you live in the Dallas area, you must eat at one of their locations...it's awesome!!! There are 6 meat choices: pot roast, fried chicken, chicken fried steak, chicken tenders, fried catfish, and smoked chicken. Everything else is served family style including, salad, biscuits, mashed potatoes, cream gravy, green beans, and corn. Words cannot express how much I like this place. It's probably a good thing there isn't one closer to us b/c home cooking style food served all you can eat is not a good combo for my health, but that doesn't mean Babe's can't hold a special place in my heart. Yum, yum! Here's Jake and Kevin with the Babe's Chicken...

What a cutie! and Amen on there not being a Babe's down here. Matt would have us eating there every week if it was close by.
