Here's some more pictures of our little Cheetah basketball player...
This is how Luke spends some of his time enjoying the game. Some of this other time is spent playing with balls on the sidelines and having Mommy chase them on the court when it accidentally gets out of his reach!
Coach is giving the boys s pep talk....
Cheetahs on 3...Roar on 3!
For a few minutes this is how they were on the sidelines. I think it's obvious from this pic that Jake plays really hard and gives it his best, and that Luke loves his big brother!

Playing
We love to play all sorts of things around here. Both boys have their favorites for sure. Jake's most used toy is his over-the-door basketball goal in our entryway, and Luke's most used toy is an animal set that Jake got as a gift a couple years ago. Those things are BY FAR used more than other things, but that doesn't mean we don't like playing all sorts of things around our house. Here they are playing with a marble run...

A finished mosaic art...
Silly Jake and Daddy making owl faces (it seems like Jake is a sweet owl and Kevin is a scary owl)...
Playing with each other and just being silly....
And of course, outdoor fun when the weather is great...

Sunny Days
The past couple months has seen many cloudy, cold days in Austin. It has seemed more dreary than normal even for winter. Spring is now here, so we're seeing more sunny days, but they were just few and far between. When we did see sunny, nice days, it was a necessity to soak it in which often means a visit to the park. Here we are at the park...

Ducks!
For our day off for the MLK holiday, we headed to the park to feed ducks and enjoy some walking along the trail. It was a great day to be outside....
Luke LOVED it. This kid is not intimidated by animals, not even loud, obnoxious geese!

Basketball season
Jake is on his very first basketball team through the YMCA for the winter season. Here'a a picture on the first day of practice. As with all sports, he was SUPER excited to be starting and to be a part of a team...
After deciding we couldn't volunteer to help coach due to Kevin's high school basketball schedule, we then received an e-mail from the Y informing the parents our team had no coach and was looking for volunteers. We waited a few days, and after contacting the Y with still no volunteers, we decided to go for it! We originally thought I would have to step in for several games due to Kevin's work schedule, but the season schedule turned out great for us, and Kevin never missed a game. I think both Kevin and Jake were VERY happy to both be a part of the Cheetah's team so it all turned out for the best. Jake has already said he wants Daddy to coach his next team! Here's the team saying the Y pledge before the first game...
The after game huddle, with the littlest Cheetah at Coach's side...

After Party
After the party, we opened family presents, enjoyed good family time, and headed to PDQ. Luke really loved seeing Jake's new toys...
We had been to PDQ once before Jake's birthday and were pleased with their food. Now after going on his birthday, we can't say enough good things about this restaurant. They gave Jake and his cousins a free shirt, and let them all come behind the counter to make their own free milkshakes!! All three were living it up. Here they are modeling their new shirts...
Silly pose...
Still enjoying the balloons after the celebrations were through...
