As I said in my last post, Jake is now able to reach and hold on to things. One of my favorite things to give him is this little lamb/blankey. He seems to really love it. The lamb actually says the "Now I lay me down to sleep..." prayer when squeezed, but Jake hasn't figured that out yet.

Easter festivities
Both Kevin and I were lucky to have a 4-day Easter weekend so we took the opportunity to visit our families. We started of at my parents house where Jake had quite the Easter suprise. Here he is with some new bunny friends.
Jake got his first Easter basket at my parents' house. He didn't quite know what to think, but he enjoyed his new books a lot and Mom and Dad are enjoying the candy! Thanks Grandmama and Papa for such a special Easter treat.
Here's Grandpapa showing him his first glimpse.
On Saturday, we went to Chad and Cassy's church, Grace Community Church in Plano (where Cassy is the Children's Minister) for a cook-out and Easter egg hunt. Cassy did an amazing job coordinating the event--there was lots of food, fun and fellowship. The Easter bunny even made a special appearance. Here's the best picture we could get of Cohen and Jake with the Easter bunny.
It was really fun getting to watch Cohen hunt Easter eggs. He seemed to get the concept of picking up the eggs, but he was WAY more interested in what was inside each egg than the quantity he got. He ended up with a grand total of 3 eggs because he was too busy looking inside to race the other kids. This shot sums up most of his Easter egg hunt. I think Chad and Cassy must be doing a great job at teaching selflessness...can a 20-month-old understand that?
