Mid season Tournament

The t-ball league Jake plays in held a mid-season tournament a few weekends ago. The Red Sox played 2 games on Saturday, and won 2 games.  On Sunday's games, winners continued, and the other team was out.  The Red Sox kept their winning streak alive, and played 3 games to ultimately win the championship game!  It was a lot of baseball, and the kids were pretty worn out, but Jake had a lot of fun!  Here's some pics from the weekend...

The Red Sox played the Giants in the final game.  Here are the Red Sox lined up ready to shake hands and be recognized...

Here's the little siblings of the group playing in the dirt.  I'm glad I'm not the only one chasing a little around...
The Giants happen to be Jake's best friend, Tanner's, team.  The boys were so sweet, not competitive toward each other at all, and just excited to play together.  Here the BFFs showing off their winnings...

Luke fun

Being a mom to an elementary schooler, and being mom to a toddler are two completely different things.  When Jake was a toddler, we went on a lot of play dates.  I remember meeting up with friends at a bounce house place when he was still crawling just so we had something to do to get us out of the house.  Now, things look a little different, and Luke and I have no problem getting ourselves out of the house.  We don't do nearly as many group playdates as Jake and I did, so when we were invited by some friends to go to a nearby bounce house place, we jumped at the chance.  It was Luke's first time, and he LOVED it!  We will definitely have to go again.  They had a foam pit, and he loved being thrown in...

He loved all the bouncy houses, and wasn't even intimidated by the tall slide.  He wasn't quite able to get up this ladder on this own, but I helped him out a couple times and we got to go enjoy the slide together.  Overall, fun trip with a super fun boy!

Silly Boy

One morning as I was getting ready, I walked into our bathroom to find this guy trying on my glasses and headband...

Silly, silly boy.  I guess this is the closest we come to a mini-Mommy in the house...

Easter 2015

Easter is a wonderful holiday.  We spent family devo times leading up to Easter Sunday doing our resurrection eggs and talking about the true meaning of Easter.  Jake loves doing the resurrection eggs, and I'm glad for such a convenient way to tell Jesus' story.  Easter is also great because it falls in the springtime which means there's a great chance for good weather, and Easter included lots of fun activities!  This year, my parents came in town to celebrate Easter with us, so we had a great time doing some Easter traditions together.  Easter isn't Easter for us without dyeing eggs...

Dyeing eggs takes lots of help, so it was a whole family affair...
Kevin and my dad hid eggs around the house and front yard so the boys had their own private hunt Saturday afternoon.  Here's some of the searching and finding...

Jake was a super sweet brother and did a good job of helping Luke find eggs and keeping the egg count even.  They were both happy with their loot...
There were filled Easter baskets to be found on Sunday morning...

Lookin' and feelin' good after church...

Animals!

Luke's favorite toy over everything else are his (really Jake's old) animals, and he loves to line them up!

Fun Run 2015

Jake's school held a Fun Run one beautiful Saturday morning a few weeks ago.  There were races by grade level, then a family 1 mile run so we decided to join in on the running fun!  Here's Jake in the student line-up as they begin to warm up for the races...
Jake ready for the first race, the 50 m....
The 3rd place finisher for the 50 m...
Jake also ran in the 100 m and 400 m and got 1st place in both of them!

Jake ran in 3 individual races and 1 relay, then we all ran the 1 mile family race so he had quite a morning!  He was a trooper and we were so proud of all his finishes!

1st Field Trip

Jake's first school field trip was a few weeks back.  Kevin was awesome and agreed to take off work to stay home with Luke so I could go on the field trip with Jake.  I volunteer every week in Jake's class, and have volunteered for several events at the school and Luke is always in tow.  He's usually super and loves being with the big kids, but he's also almost 2, and sometimes it's tough being almost 2, so it was nice to have a chance to be with Jake's class on my own for this trip.  The trip was to the "Austin Rodeo."  We didn't actually see the rodeo, but we were on the grounds.  We saw a dog show, pig races, learned how to milk cows, enjoyed a petting zoo, and walked all around the grounds.  Here's Jake and his two best buds checking everything out...
I don't have too many pictures, because it was hard to capture shots of a dog show and pig races, but it was easy to get a shot with Jake holding his food for the petting zoo...
All the kids got turns on this cool tractor/bike...
