2014 Soccer ends

I guess I got a little ahead of myself talking about t-ball before finishing up soccer.  The Dragons ended their season with their best game of the year, so it was a great end to a fun season.  Jake played hard and even scored a couple goals!  Here's the team doing the YMCA pledge before the game started.  Kevin actually coached the first half because the coach was running late...
Here's Jake after the game with a red icing mouth.  We had snacks for the last game, so I decided to do something special and got red icing cupcakes to celebrate the end of the season...
 Here's the 2014 5-year-old Dragons...

Luke

Our precious Luke turned 14 months a couple days ago.  Here are some things about him...
*His favorite toys in our house seem to be the toy kitchen, the singing Handy Manny tools, and Jake's set of tools
*He also loves to drum.  He'll point to the crate of musical instruments wanting everything out, but always spends the most time beating the drumsticks.
*He continues to be affectionate and snuggly.  When he's tired he snuggles up close and rests his head in your chest.  He gives great hugs, kisses, and pats you when he's showing love.

*This month he has been working very hard on walking.  He's been very cautious and started with just a few steps at a time, but I'm happy to announce he is now an official walker!!!
*He's quite the charmer and most of the time likes to be around other people.  Here he is at a playdate with some of Jake's friends as happy as can be...
*I think the most repeated comment I get about him from others who help take care of him is "What an arm!"  He loves to throw things and can throw pretty well.  We've been working hard on only throwing balls, because all kinds of things have gone flying across the room.
*About 1 1/2 months ago, he started waking up in the morning with his shirt all twisted around.  After a few days, I realized he developed a habit when he's tired of putting his hand underneath his shirt and bringing it up to his mouth/chin to feel the material.  I guess it's comforting to feel the softness up against his face.
*He loves feeding other people.  When he's eating, usually at some point he'll hold out some food to offer it to whoever is feeding him.  If you actually take the food, he'll want to keep going and going.
*He loves music and has some great dance moves.  He likes to do the twist and he likes to flap his arms up and down to the music.
 *He LOVES sticks...
*The only words he really says are "uh oh" and Mama.  Mama is said whenever he wants something, although he can make lots of other sounds that aren't really words.  In just the last week, he started making a sound that sounds just like "Let it Go." It truly sounds just like the song although I don't think he's ever heard that song.
*Although he hasn't said the word no, he definitely knows how to shake his head no.  Mostly he does this when he's offered food he doesn't want to eat.

Unexpected Stop

A few weeks back when we were in San Antonio to see Brittany's dance performance, we headed to Sea World to pick up our passes for a trip later this summer.  Well, what started off being a quick drop off to pick up tickets turned into a spur of the moment 2 hour mini Sea World visit.  Here's some pics of our impromptu fun...

First T-ball game

Jake had his first t-ball game yesterday.  I'm not sure what his team name is.  I know that sounds weird, but I truly believe the team has already changed the name or else each boy is just calling it what they want.  I thought it was the Crazy Dogs, but then yesterday some of them were yelling for Wild Dogs.  Either way, we've got some pretty good red and black little dogs out on that fied.  I did take a few pictures, but there was a mom there with a super nice camera who took action shots of all the kids.  All of these shots are compliments of her...

And lastly, one cute little pup was cheering on all those wild and crazy dogs...

Celebrating!

To celebrate Jake's graduation, Papa and Grandmama treated us to dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse, then to a night at Disney on Ice.  I didn't get any pictures from the ice show since, but I did get a few from dinner.  The boys loved their dinner!  Luke loved their specialty mac 'n cheese..

And Jake loved his steak and fries (of course, eyes closed, with flash, but I just had to show how much this boy loves steak)...

Graduation

Jake had preschool graduation a few weeks ago.  We've made it through our first school stage, and I couldn't be happier with Jake or his experience at Bethany.  Mrs. Peterson called each student up one by one and read off their answers to two questions.  The first question was "What do you want to be when you grow up?" and Jake's answer was fireman.  The 2nd question was "What did you like most about school?" and Jake's answer was Muffins with Mom (I think that's because that was one of the most recent activties at school).  Here's some shots of his class at the front of the sanctuary...

After graduation was over, all the kids gathered in the gym with their classes before their parents could come get them.  This was my first shot I got of Jake...
Two of Jake's classmates, Zoey and Sophie, wanted a picture with Jake...

Day to Day

Around our house we try to do lots of fun, special things, but many of our days are fun at home with the normal day-to-day.  Here's some of our day-to-day...playing with chalk...

 Getting super messy with chalk...
Hanging out in our diapers (well, this is only Luke), and showing off his adorable chubby legs...
Playing with toys in the play room or living room.  Here's some dog ears that Luke loves...

Metro Rail

Last month we decided to go an adventure and take the Metro Rail to Pecan Street Arts Festival dowtown. Jake was super excited to ride the train...

Jake enjoyed riding and seeing all the sights out the window while Luke enjoyed seeing all the people on the train and stealing their hearts!

A Mess

When you love to eat, you oftentimes end up being a mess...

Taco's Visit

We are the perfect dog sitters right now in our lives.  We are dog people without a dog with no plan for a dog for a long time, but most importantly, we have a 5-year-old boy who LOVES dogs.  We dogsat for our good friends, and Jake had a blast with Taco.  He fed him, played with him, slept with him, and walked him.  Here are the two fast friends...
Jake wanted to make himself a dog collar so he could match Taco...
