Swimming

Jake is definitely a little fish and loves swimming.  We'd been in sprinklers and baby pools so far this season, but I was waiting until we could go as a family of 4 to head to the "big pool" since Luke is far from ready for big action. School ended, and the day Jake waited for arrived: we all headed to the pool.  The nearby Cedar Park pool is great for young kids and has a "tot swim" from 10-noon on weekdays for children under 5, so it's perfect for us.  Kevin and I took turns in the water and Jake had a blast...

Although Luke was dressed for the occasion, he never even left his carrier.  He decided it was a good day for a long morning nap and slept through the whole outing...

First game of the season

We're fortunate to be close to a minor league baseball team, the Round Rock Express.  We manage to go to a few games every season, and it's always good, fun, affordable entertainment.  It was time for Luke to experience the first game in his life and our first game of the summer.  Luke was a champ and we had a great night.  Notice that Luke is dressed like a baseball...how cute!  Thanks, Laura, for the adorable outfit...

Not just Momma's job

I started pumping pretty early on as recommended by the pediatrician and lactation nurse when Luke was having trouble gaining back his birthweight.  With the milk on hand, we also started giving him a bottle once a day to gain some help with his feedings.  From the start, Luke has been a champ with the bottle, and it hasn't affected his nursing a bit.  Jake even tried his hand one day...

Build and Grow

Kevin and Jake went to Lowe's Build and Grow for the first time a few weekends ago.  Jake LOVED it!  He got an apron, patch as well as the project--all for free!  The project was characters from Monsters University.  Jake came home excited about the new movie and asking when he could go to Build and Grow again.  It was definitely a hit!

He even got goggles!

Playtime

We brought out the playmat so Luke could have some fun in the jungle.  Jake also had lots of fun with the jungle (at least the first day).  Here are some pics of Luke's new, exciting toy.  Once again, I apologize for some being turned the wrong way.  I cannot figure out how to rotate them in blogger or get them from Picasa correctly...

2 months

Luke turned 2 months June 13, and we had his 2 month well check yesterday.  The doctor confirmed our suspicions that he is a big baby.  Here are his stats:

Weight: 13 pounds, 5 ounces; 75th percentile
Height: 25 inches; 95th percentile
Head circumference: 41 cm; 75th percentile

Here are Jake's 2 month stats for comparison:

Weight: 11 pounds, 12 ounces; 50th percentile
Height: 23.75 inches; 75th percentile
Head circumference: 39.4 cm; 40th percentile

Luke really is a great baby.  We very rarely hear his true cry, usually just some grunts or groans of dissatisfaction.  He's also sleeping pretty good.  He'll sleep anywhere from 6-8 hour stretch at night, then usually goes back down quickly.  We're really enjoying his increased smiles.  He's been smiling since about 5 weeks, but is more aware everyday and the smiles are coming more and more.

I did his two month pictures on June 13 and kept shooting and shooting which resulted in a lot of pictures.  It was too hard to narrow it down, so here are lots of Luke pics...
I was hoping to get these next few turned the other way to better see, but I just couldn't get them turned in blogger, so here's the best I could do...
Here are some smiley ones...

Some full body shots to capture that super long body...

Luke

Before I post Luke's two-month photos and stats, I should probably share a few pics leading us up to 2 months...
My parents visited in May and brought some new clothes for Luke.  One outfit was this super cute dressy one.  He looks so adorable...
 More funny sleep poses...

Soccer Season

Soccer season ended May 21 for the Strikers.  The Strikers had an amazingly successful undefeated season, but most importantly, Jake had a blast!  He couldn't wait for every practice and game and was all smiles through it all.  We were so proud of how hard he played, his good effort to always improve, his ability to pick himself up after being knocked down (literally), but most importantly his sweet team spirit.  He was great both on the field and on the sidelines, always cheering on his teammates.  Here's a picture of Jake with his coaches.  Unfortunately, the cropping didn't make it onto the blog, but it's a super cute picture especially even closer up...

Brothers Photo Shoot

I attempted a brothers photo shoot the other day.  Here's what I got...

I think this one is my favorite because Luke has a little smile...

Austin Aztex

A couple weekends ago, Kevin and Jake went to their first Austin Aztex game.  Since playing on his soccer team, Jake has been enthusiastic about soccer so this was a perfect outing.  It was "blue out" night at the game, but Jake really wanted to wear his Peru jersey.  He brilliantly decided to wear a blue shirt underneath his jersey so he was fully ready.  Here's the matching guys ready to go...

Our Park

For Jake's birthday we promised to get him a swing set, and we finally delivered 4 months later.  Thanks to Kevin and Big T's hard work, our backyard is now a lot more fun.  Jake calls it his "park." Here's a look at our new park...
